2023 Update:
From the Vice President:
2023 BIA Reunion Update
Sue and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and New Year!
I know some of you remember seeing this from CCGD11 as we entered the Antarctic in 1970.
It’s amazing what can be found in an old file cabinet! The “ICE MACHINE” played for our party in the hangar...but I don’t remember any Christmas carols.
In about 10 months we’ll be making more memories together, but this time along the shores of Chesapeake Bay.
Both Armed Forces Reunions and the Sheraton Waterfront Norfolk have sent us tour information and prices, as well as a Sheraton room reservation link that will allow you to reserve your rooms online.
The hotel reservation link is:

While you may make a reservation any time after the new year, Charity (our POC at the Sheraton) isn’t expecting them until about 3 months prior to the reunion. As a reminder, the room rate ($139 + tax) is guaranteed for our reunion.

You may have to copy/paste it into your own browser.
Tours we are considering include: - Virginia Aquarium (5.5hrs, $80pp) - Botanical Gardens/Norfolk Outlets 6.5hrs, $75pp) - Mariner’s Museum (5hrs, $58pp) - Norfolk Riding Tour (Comprehensive Historic tour inc.
MacArthur Memorial, 2-hour boat cruise; Doumar’s Ice Cream Shop; 5hrs, $117pp)
Armed Forces Reunions will be coordinating our tours and transportation.
An online sign-up form will be included in an upcoming issue of the SCUTTLEBUTT. Of course, you’ll be able to print it out and submit it if you’d rather. We’ll keep you updated.
While there are many other options available, including a dinner cruise, costs go up accordingly.
Please take the time to check out the Visit Norfolk website provided above, and familiarize yourself with the area, options, and historical background, including such places as Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown.
You’ll find out that we’re visiting at the time of year local residents choose for their vacations!
My best to you all,
Doug “(Huck) Huckins
